Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. When I join in Sept and finish my training etc and qualify as an AET can I opt to be posted in England quite easily (Yeovilton), or is it a case they could send you anywhere.

I was under the impression AET's was mostly a crab role and you had to opt to get drafted to boats etc.

    Cheers big ears

  2. Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. what the fcuk? seriously, you should have thought of things like "where am I going to be" BEFORE you applied.

  4. AET? Boats?

Where do they put the hangar?

My understanding is that since the fateful M2 trial, boats no longer carry aircraft of any kind

  6. Lol I know it sounds like a bone question but I was just wondering if that's how it worked.

I expect and want to be able to travel with my career - I was just wondering whether it was possible to stay at a base in England like Yeovilton.

  7. You want to travel and you wish to stay in a base in England?

I really can not understand what you are on about.

And what was all that about a 'crab role'?

  8. No I don't "wish" to stay in a base in England - I was just wondering if it is possible.

From the replies I take it you just get sent wherever you happen to get sent =P

  9. Yes you will get shore jobs.

Yes you will go where you're told.

  10. HOW VERY FCUKIN DARE YOU!
