Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I am trying to research my grand fathers RN service, and was wandering if any members could help.

i have his service record and it states the ships he served with are as follows.

    Raleigh mar 43 - may 43
    victory may 43 - june 43
    st christopher june 43 - july 43
    afrikander july 43 - feb 45

    then

    lunka (ml900) mar 45 jan 46 ???
    victory jan 46 - apr 46

he was awarded the Burma star, Italy Star, war and defence medal and the 1939-45 star.

  2. Raleigh was and is a Training Establishment at Torpoint Cornwall.
Victory was the main RN barracks in Portsmouth. He may well have been demobbed from there in 46
