The RNR is in a state of flux at the moment.
They've got rid of the medics, or rather you can only be a medic if you're already a qualified medic. (we did not get rid of the medics, because of the Government legislation regarding Clinical Governace, we were no longe able to use the MSA specialisation in their former role. However they were allowed teh opportunity to transfer to GSSR id they wanted to do so)
They don't seem to know quite what to do with the GSSR branch.
The gssr branch now have a clearly defined role in Force Protection
There's talk of smaller units being shut down or merged.
Just talk no plans in place at all
They've decided to accept divers for underwater force protection.
Everyone's moaning about JPA.
JPA has generally worked very well, with some exceptions
Everyone joining the RNR nowadays is told to expect to be operationally deployed at least once in their RNR career.
Surely that is what we are here for
I'm sure others will add to this list.....
