will surgery stop me joining?

  1. Hi there,
I was due to start at HMS Raleigh in October but a recent accident left me with a shattered pelvis. I've had surgery which involved me having pins and plates in the front and back. Will I still be able to join? Or has this ruined my chances completely? Gutted would be an understatement if it has!

Sorry to hear of your circumstances. Did you actually have a provisional offer of service with a start date or was this a projected entry date assuming you had completed selection up to and including PRNC?

Best bet? Email the Royal Navy Service Entry Medical Cell, supplying as much detail as possible: [email protected]

    Best of luck.
  3. I completed the PRNC and had a start date. Thanks for the info, I'll email them and find out coz my AFCO doesn't seem to know much about it.
