Hi Ship rat,
I've worked in the fitness industry for over 3 yrs now, and have been into general phys and health issues all my life so I know what I'm talking about.
I'm going to come across as a bit of a know all.....but........
Anyway, dont be afraid to eat when your hungry mate and never feel guilty about it either. You should be aware that it is perfectly normal to feel hungry at least every two hours irrespective of your lifestyle.
If you consider what your Basal Metabolic Rate is, (your resting metabolism), (eg. weight in kilos multiplied by 24) you will probably be surprised at how many cals your body actually needs as a minimum even if you slept for 24 hours.
Never eat less than this amount because your body will begin losing muscle tissue if you do.
Its also important to note that this amount of calories only accounts for what you need just to exist, it does'nt accomodate for all the activity you do throughout the day.
eg. 70k * 24 = 1680 cals (Basal Metabolic Rate)
I'm sure if you consider these facts, you will have a better understanding of why you feel hungry a lot, esp if you've an active lifestyle too.
