Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. as the question states, where do you have your medical? and what is the normal proceedure's/tests they do to test you? :)
    Cheers guys :)
  2. At your local AFCO

Hearing, BMI-related tests, urine, general check-up
  3. I had mine at the site of a mental hospital.
  4. WSTB

As your AFCO is Redruth your medical will be conducted via the Manor Surgery which is pretty much on the door step. There is a doctor there who does the medicals for that AFCO.
  5. Maybe they where trying to tell you something ;) ?

    Goodnight you boring nocturnal emission.
  17. I thought softcock got banned!?
  18. The AFCO will tell you where to go mine was a local surgery. They test urine, ears, BMI and generally make sure you are fairly healthy. Nothing to worry about really, make sure you bring your specs aswell if you need them.
  19. On a serious note! :D I had mine at a local doctor.

They tested my hearing, lung capacity, blood pressure, urine test, he listens to your breathing then you strip down to your undies, walk on your heals, walk on your toes stand on one leg put your clothes back on then they ask you of your medical history. its pretty basic really!

Hope thats helps, don't worry to much about it, doctors are daunting places but it really wasn't that bad! :)
  20. That sounds like a challenge, trying to get dressed whilst standing on one leg!

I didn't asked to do that one.
