Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. When things go wrong, as they probably will,
    When the daily grind seems all uphill.
    When machines are low and tempers are high,
    When you try to smile but can only cry,
    When you really feel that you want to quit,
    Don't come to me 'cos I don't give a sh1t!!
  2. ...

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

    yes it's tough isn't it ... but if it was easy there'd be no sense of satisfaction (who am I kidding :roll: )
  3. I wondered who'd pinched the wooden board in Gym No.1 with 'If' on it. Can you return it to the G-Spot Museum please Golden Rivet as soon as possible? :wink:
  4. wot you on about swotty ??? It woz me wot rote that

  5. Kipling's poem 'If' was displayed on a big wooden board in Gym no.1 in HMS Ganges. I'd assumed you'd copied it from there and wanted the missing board returned to the Ganges Museum. :roll:
  6. If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs my son.

    You obviously have no conception of the current situation.

  8. I would have thought

    "Abandon Hope,All ye that enter here!"

    was more appropriate!
  9. May the road rise up to meet you.
    May the wind be always at your back.
    May the sun shine warm upon your face;
    the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
    may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
