A bill outlawing the possession of "extreme pornography" is set to become law next week. But many fear it has been rushed through and will criminalise innocent people with a harmless taste for unconventional sex.

Looks like typical government thought police again.

Looks like I'll have to get rid of my St Trinian's collection of DVDs as they depict extreme violence using phallus like objects such as vases and hockey sticks. Then there's Miss Marple, Poirot, many of my old science books, not to mention all the old Dracula films. Then there's the New Testament with its everyday story of a virgin's rape by a mythical God, which could give sexual excitement to some perverts and most priests....

They are going to regret this ill-considered legislation, which was ridiculed in the House of Lords a couple of weeks ago. Anything the police define as coming within the broad ambit of this law could be included, including many medical textbooks, thrillers, religious texts (eg the Bhagavad-gita) plus much classical art currently on display or in the vaults of the British Museum.

I'll let you know!

Why is it that almost everthing this Government reacts to seems to be ill thought through and peevish? Shouldn't we be wishing for less government than bloody more of it? Remind me, what was the final Score in 1945?

A few thoughts on porn being legal; players should be:

1. Adult
2. Human
3. Volunteers
4. Still breathing and in one piece on completion.
5. At no point in distress.

Ahh, the Nanny State. Big Brother and all that. Has anyone read "Blind Faith" by Ben Elton? Because it's horribly prophetic of our society. Soon they will know everything about you - privacy will be illegal and the keeping of secrets a hanging offence.

Do home videos count then?

Couldn't agree more! Although penicillin (or worse) may be required within a few days or weeks. Best keep it in your trousers!

I think you’re spot on there mate.

Now let me see, David Blunkett gives it his full support I believe.
Would that be the same guy as David Blunkett the adulterer?
Well, he would know all about morality wouldn’t he? Fcucking hypocrite!

Homosexuality used to be but is no longer illegal. Good thing too.

However, now it seems that Gay or Straight people viewing images depicting consenting adults acting out S&M role play, could be criminalised. Crass in the extreme!

Just the sort of thing to expect from this snot-gobbling, control freaking government.

Now, where did I put my welder's apron and fishermen's waders?

I am sure you know that is not what they mean and I didn't know David was married?

Sure your not mixing him up with Charlie Windsor?
