Hello James!

Welcome to Rum Ration!

Yes, the wait is 24 months as things stand, but the waits are revised every couple of months so we will see what it is when the next list comes out.

When will you be 15 years and 9 months old?

Holy crap!, i think i might choose a branch that gets me in quickly :D
Wouldn't recommend that. Because if you chose a branch on that notion you may end up being fed up and leaving due to no doing a job you enjoy and that would be a waste of yours and the navy's time.

Most branches have a long waiting list

That's a year and a half ago and the lists have shot up dramatically since then.

What do you like about WS by the way?

Does your local Navy Careers Advisor ever come to your Cadet evenings, by the way?

That was 2008 it's 2010 now waiting lists have gone scoring high for pretty much every branch some shorter than others. Recession is one of the reasons for this, with less leaving and more joining.

You have to be 15 years and 9 months to apply. The RN website tells you this. Waiting lists are pretty long at the moment. This site tells you this. Any other bone questions you have are answered in the newbies forum. Good luck!

Right guys, got a question for you's.

Would you say that, with the amount of people applying to join, the quality of recruit is getting better as the RN can pick and choose who they pass through selection with the amount of people they have to choose from?

Are you asking whether they'd let James in?

Yes, you can apply while you are still at school, as long as you have reached the age of 15 years and 9 months.

You can get in touch with the Careers Advisors beforehand though, for info and so on.

Do you know where your nearest ones are?

No.
The quality is just the same. It only takes a few bad'uns to give all recruits/trainees a bad name.
