Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The Sea Cadets & Navy Cadet Corps? Its because I know an ex sea cadet instructor who was barely passable as a PO SCC who has now turned up as a S/Lt in the Navy Cadets.
  2. Now ain't that just the way of the world.
  3. The Sea Cadets Corps are officially recognised by the RN with resources, training and support provided by the RN.

Navy Cadet Corps are a separate group set up by misguided/aggrieved individuals (usually ex SCC) and are not supported in any way by the RN.

The situation of the PO you mentioned sounds typical where individuals just 'give' themselves a rank. There's plenty of these arses about.
  4. I like the link to the "Belguim Navy".

If the chap that chockhead819 mentioned dresses up in current rig but has never held a commission, isn't he guilty of fraud?
  5. Looking at the piccies of the Traf Night 2008 the rig looks well dodgy - never seen straight lace with an NCC in the curl before but the kids were all wearing TS Invincible (SCC) cap tallies so the officers should have been Wavy Navy - or has everything changed?
