What next for SEA(RES) branch?

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. At the end of this year the RNR Seaman Reserve branch cease being tasked to provide force protection teams for RFA's and so forth. This being due to the disbanding of P Sqn and the torch being taken up by a Squadron of 45 Cdo instead.

So what next for the Sea Res branch? The SO1's brief had a few ideas about what we might do such as phalanx operators or gunners on Escorts and so on. Or will the booties get bored of RFA's by this time next year and ask for us back?

P.S. Is there anything anyone would recommend for a keen but experienced young reservist that enjoys running around in green? Joining the RMR aside.
  2. Wow, that organisation lasted a long time!
  3. They need the lads back out of P Sqn to fill the gaps elsewhere :)
  4. I was going to post this exact same question, then thought someone would probably just have a go at me for idle speculation and say go and read CTM-somethingorother ;)
I reckon we'll be on rotating Gib-artificial-reef-FP for the next three years...
  5. Can't be surely? Half my unit are matelots cause they're is not enough royals to man the gaps having left for maritime!
