What is the name of this sensor?

When people have no knowledge about a subject, and do not seek knowledge, they become increasingly ignorant. That is why I have just discovered that here many who are not aware are masquerading as jokes without thanks. I thought it was a serious forum.
I haven't got a clue what that bit of kit is, being an Ex ME, sensor porn doesn't really float my boat, but I guess everyone is different.

But asking for sensitive/secret info, on a public forum is just plain moronic, no?

Is that why you posted this in the "Jokes>Miscellaneous" part?

It is that is why we do not answer technical military questions in an open forum, there is no way of telling who may view these pages?

And all that are current or have served are bound by the official secrets act?
And just as importantly we, serving, are bound by the social media code whereby we are not allowed to comment on capabilities.

I thought the OP was going to inform us of what it was and as he had already said Portland I thought he meant HMS Portland which does indeed have the badger.
Perhaps he wan't teasing after all, thus I shall retire to a place of chastisement and give myself a damn good thrashing.

That's always been my excuse, yes.

Although it doesn't seem to work on senior officers of the same side, nor would "What do YOU think it is, sir?"

Okay - I give up. It's a TI-VO 6-channel Elint sector scanner. Operating in the band 10-99Ghz it has a multi-core Quad-Mux Processor and a Data Base Set File Utility (D.B.S.F.U.) which is auto-updated every 0.06ms.
The latest variant can interrogate all encrypted data transmissions and packet-switched data sets using
technology known as fluid algorithm analysis.

Please don't tell anyone else or you'll get me shot.

Billy.

It's late, over budget and doesn't work.
