what does the x mean in service number

Was the 1939 census the last whole population census. I have found most of his siblings but cant find his children. I know of two from his first marriage. Thanks so Much for your help

I can see the children from the first marriage too; I'll try to look for the ones from the later marriage later today.

First marriage was eileen Higgins, two children. I think he remarried in 1950 to a lily murray but can't be sure, know nothing after this. I believe Eric had 7 siblings and his sister Alice holt née gosling was a witness at his first wedding to Eileen Higgins in 1944. Someone else called dessie/bessie/tessie gosling was also a witness.
