If you want to wear a teddy, go right ahead.

Not very practical for basic training though, I'd leave it until your first ship...

Bite or not, it reminds me of a submarine dit.

Girlfriends, 'cos nobody was gay in those days, would give a little love token, usually a teddy bear, to take on patrol. This cuddly toy would generally live on one's pit, the clever chaps would ty-wrap it to something.

I heard of at least one occasion where the toy was 'kidnapped'. The ransom demand would appear in the recipient's mail rack usually accompanied with a tuft of for. Non payment of the ransom would result in further letters, possibly with an ear in the envelope............

I’ll bite. Yes, totally. It’s not a concentration camp or prison. Just make sure it’s on the small side. A full human, fun fair sized one might not be practicable.

That happened to a TCPO on an S boat I was on, including the ear in the envelope. In those days the health physics lab was also the photo developing lab so he got photos as well.

He complained to the Cox'n and skipper but got no joy. He refused to pay the one crate ransom so Teddy was duly "executed" : )

Someone took a cuddly Nemo fish out to Afghan when the Sqdn went.
It was duly kidnapped and photos kept appearing of it in different locations.
The best one was when it was water boarded.
Who thought up to water board a bloody fish?

Take a blow-up doll instead. It's more useful and is easier to stash for rounds.
You'll find the Teddy gets full up too quickly and is not as washable.

No,no, it's okay,no thanks required, here to help....

Plus you have the added advantage of renting the doll out to your classmates.

Believe it or not the imps shut down about 10 years ago. Sad but true.. opened up again as Riva 3 or 4 years back. It's now an eatery.
