Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. im applying as a weapons engineer, just got medical and fitness to go.is anyone on here a weapons engineer,if so could you tell me more about the job and life as a WE. thanks
  2. Being a W.E. you're unlikely to get a high bunk light bill.
  3. Are you joining as an Officer or an Engineerig Technician?
  4. Not as officer, Engineering Tech. Could you tell me more about it? Thanks
  5. yeah seen it,just wanted to talk to another WE. Thanks anyway!
  6. You'll be lucky. They're all playing golf......those of them who are out of bed.

It does indeed. Ask the question from your chair & then wait for the answer to appear in front of you.

Apart from the WNCBC* aspects, you've cracked-it! :thumright:

    *WNCBC=Willy-Nilly Circuit Board Changes.

  9. More comedy genius! This is a fun week in 'forum land'!! :rendeer:
  10. hello there,

did you manage to talk to a W.E. (backbone of the fleet, when upright lol)?
  11. no such luck as yet, could you help????
  12. When I was an OM and worked in the various WE departments we did various things from system checks, to hydraulic pipe changing, to circuit board making, to greasing, to cleaning, to sleeping, etc. Depending which section you work on depends on what type of engineering we did i.e electrical or mechanical if that makes sense.
  13. I am a CPOET(WE), started life as a WEM then went on tiffs course and just recently ended up being an ET.

What questions do you have lucky? Would be glad to assist in any way, shape or form.

(Welcome Hilly, good to have you here.)
  15. In my defence, i did take thursday off, just in case an emergency like this happened, lol
  16. I was a WE tiff for 23 but left and got an easier job that paid more!!!! Tis true.
Sorry for the digression but couldn't help the OP as they have changed everything in the last 2 years.

    Ah, now it makes sense.

Your trolleys are truly ablaze! :thumright:
  18. Of course when WNCBC fails to sort it they resort to the other tried and tested WE repair technique - CTC*

    *CTC = Call The Contractor
