Weapon tech, stupid question.

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Sorry if this is a stupid question but when looking at the different careers/trades on the RN website I noticed there was no such trade as weapon tech aircraft like they have in the RAF.

Do navy air techs also look after the aircrafts weapons then?
  2. You are about 30 years too late. the FAA used to have Armourers, referred to as Bombheads. About 30 years ago they were integrated into the Electrical branch. I believe that these days the Electrical branch and Radio Electrical branch may also have been combined.
  3. All Weapons loading/prep is now done by the avionics trade (combined Pinkies and Greenies), Harrier squadron's have a team of AV's who's sole job is bomb-heading.

"Bomb on - Bomb off", How hard can it be?
