Watch duty at BRNC?

Hello all,

I have passed AIB and looking to start training this year.

During phase 1 is there watch duty in field and on ex etc?

I know this is the case for the army and thought due to being field based it might be the same

Right! So there is watch whilst in phase 1 in the field or on ex?
There will be duties, don't know about standing watch's etc. And as your joining the RN I doubt 'fields' will be included!!! Nor trenches. We just don't do that sort of thing. We're not quiet the RAF but fields!!! Ugh No thank you!!!!
I 'imagine', because I don't know for sure but duties will include duty officer/student for your class and miscellaneous duties commensurate with your training.
I worked with OUT's (Officers Under Training), whilst Dartmouth Training Squadron, (sea training on board a war canoe). Duties there were the same as the ships companies. Standing watches on the bridge, deck and engineering depending on specialisation but not as an officer. (Exception being aircrew.) Never had potential pilots working with the flight though!!! Maybe they went to an air station!!!!

There is sentry duty when you’re doing your field exercise at the end of the first term (ABLE). You will be expected to ensure that your harbour area is free of intruders overnight.

At BRNC you will have duties such as ‘bell’ for colours, security rounds of the building (lock up, unlock) etc. It will be on a rota and each division will take turns on a rotation.
