Warfare specialist Submariner questions

Hey guys, I’m currently 16 and I’m applying to join the Royal Navy as a Warfare specialist Submariner and I’ve got a few questions.

1- What is the waiting time ?

2- What is the Warfare specialist training like?

3- Do I get a choice of what class of submarine I serve on or does it get decided for me.

4- How hard is it to earn your dolphins?

5- What civilian jobs could I get with my warfare experience and qualifications after I leave ?

Apologies if these questions have already been answered and thankyou in advance

I can only answer 3 and 4. You can ask to go to a class of boat but it's depends on the needs of the service. You can(and probably will) switch between classes.

How hard it is to earn your Dolphins is down to you and how much effort you put in but if it was easy everyone would have them ;)

Thankyou for your response. Yes I’m definitely going to try and work as hard as I can and hopefully in a few years time I can call myself a submariner

Hi their I'm currently joining As a warfare specialist submarniner I recently got my Raleigh date. I can answer some of your questions if it helps

1. I've waited 7 months in total but the process is very fast due to the high demand for submarine service mine was so long due to my medical slowing me down a period of 4 months also it’s a lot faster with PRNC and some RNFT not happening due to covid.

2. Basic training for 10 weeks at Raleigh or collingwood then onto submarine school not to sure on phase 2 as they are moving base apparently I’ve been told but theirs a lot of really helpful information on the Royal Navy website

Someone with more knowledge than me should answer 3,4 and 5 for you.

feel free to message me tho and I’ll give you contact information for me if you have any other questions.
