I plan on entering the Royal Navy as a Warfare Officer.
I have read around on this forum that if you enter as a Warfare Officer (Submariner), you have to spend at least 5 years in the Service before you can transfer to General Surface. However, if you start out as GS, you can "Volunteer" for time on a Submarine.
How does this work? Do I earn my Dolphins? What is the process, and how soon after your Proffesion training can you volunteer?
I feel like earning my Dolphins is a qualification I would be proud to earn, but I want to spend majority of my surface as GS. Atleast, that is my view now.
