Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. First DO NOT mistake this as a rant against mobilisation. We joined to serve.
When we are not serving we train and prepare to serve, with 24 man days where is the choice, hence volunteer?

14 days ORT, 2days PWT, 2days nbcd, 4 days 2 big bang weekends, 2 days remembrance weekend, 4 days branch training, plus drill nights.

I may not be cleaver but that is more than 24. Where is the choice and fun???

    Slow old and dim.
  2. True.. :thumright:
  3. Firstly 24 days should be the "normal maximum without approval from COs" - so there is some leeway.

However your point is well made - my specialisation asks for 12 days OCT and 12 days specialist training - if my sums are correct, there's not a lot left over!
