Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Now there's a boyhood hero if ever I saw one! Amazing

  2. Just seems such a shame that the story only emerged following a house clearance, I would have thought that someone of his family would have wanted to retain his medals and photographs.

After this story perhaps they'll soon be coming out of the woodwork to claim them? Otherwise the best home for them would be the RM Museum at Southsea.

  3. May his story now live on instead of almost being lost in history!

  4. I agree and am trying to think of a way to tell my Grand fathers story, without compromising my Persec.
He has a right rip roaring tale to his name which all started in 1870.
Part of it included desertion from the Navy. 8O 8O ????
