Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. There's an e-petition on the Downing st website calling on the PM to stop the charging of VAT on fuel duty, doing this would reuce the price of fuel by about 8p per litre!
  2. Ok just signed up hope it helps but wont hold me breath. The Govt will not let go of this money cow without a fight, so lets all sign up. Power to the masses!
  3. Signed as well. I have to agree I wont be holding my breath, however if you dont ask!! :toothy5:
  4. not sure if i have the required fiscal knowledge but surely this is a tax on a tax

you pay duty tax then add 17.5%

anway for what good it will do i have signed the petitionand a few more
  5. You're right and that's the immoral part of the whole thing, this has of course been going on for years, but that doesn't make it right. The likelihood of there being a change for the better is low, especially as the Government currently needs every penny it can get as a result of it's mismanegement of the public finances, but we can at least do our bit to make our views known.
