Vaccination help

I suppose it is really a question of need then - as in "why do you think you need it".

I think from previous threads that the RFA lads have to get all of their jabs prior to joining and then claim back costs.

My GP will only do booster the NHS want me to have, everything else has to be private and the RFA wont allow you to join without them, but you can claim back after.

Due to covid, finding a doc who will do a BCG within 50 miles of me seems near on impossible but Superdrug are happy to do everything except the BCG.

Nuffield want 57 or 75 for a consultation plus the fee for the jab, the lady I spoke too was not very clear on costs but couldn't give me the BCG price.

CityDoc wants 85 for the BCG which seems pretty low compared to some.

85 for a BCG is a ******* bargain.

I went to fleet Street clinic as I had to get it done on short notice. Cost me nearly £200 (89 for Mantoux and 100 for the actual BCG) but claimed it all back.
I'll say this for them though, they were rapid, I booked an appointment for next day and was in and out in 10 mins both times.

NHS will do everything else apart from yellow fever, you can get that at any old travel clinic.

I've just had the last of the vaccinations required- total cost- £530. But you claim it back, so unless you can't front that cost then I guess yeah go for the cheapest. The NHS WILL NOT do occupational vaccinations. I went to a travel clinic, including for my ENG1.

Strange new career path you are taking. Joining RFA - this thread and:
When you told everyone you have had a wonderful career:

Each to their own I suppose. But I don't think our RFA's have any nuclear submarine combat systems fitted. I may be wrong - I'll wait for a sundodger turned RFA Chef to confirm.
@redmonkey @RabC for interest seeing he/she/it shouted at you both.

I took a look at his FB profile, “very strange” is about all I can say. I’d say even a little bit late for a mid life crisis.

So did they have an MCA approved doctor at the travel clinic for the ENG1 or did I misunderstand?

Yes. He had a pile of blank certificates and I

was certain that if I slipped him £50 he's just sign it and tell me that I was never there :)

As it was he charged me £105. For a 20 minute feel of my bits.

They Don't, and I hope they don't sink deliberately either. What exactly is your point? I want to join the RFA, passed the interviews, and now I am. What's so weird about that? Yeah I have a good job- does that mean I should be thankful and keep it? What's strange about the RFA? I like going to sea. I can fix complicated things more often than I break them. I look good in uniform. Money isn't everything. I'm on the run. Who gives a shit? You apparently.

Combat systems are like computers- you know, with wires and that. So I heard they have some wires and computers on ships, and thought I might play with them. I've spent time at sea and liked it cos it was far away from this girl who won't leave me alone. I hope that's OK? They said it was fine.

Am I different to you? Shit, sorry. How can I fix that?

Do they still do evening classes in Bellend Skills- or can you teach me the basics?

Who looks at people FB pages anyway? Oh, you. Are you sure it was me? The Mayan Chubby crossdresser? I bet your browser auto-filled that didn't it?

Add me as a friend. Dare you. :)
