Unspent convictions - Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012

Following several queries on this issue:

For those with unspent convictions: Some may have seen the following news article regarding proposals to reform the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) back in February:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...s-6298455.html

So far as the services are concerned, there are no changes yet, but it's worth keeping yourself abreast of changes, should the following draft be introduced:
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...pter/8/enacted

As can be seen, this means that there may well be radical changes and reductions to rehabilitation periods.

The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act was passed in May 2012.

The implementation date has not yet been set, but it is likely to be in November 2012 - if this happens, then an announcement will be made at that point. Applications cannot be processed until the service policy is announced.
