Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Today at the Cenatoph a few vets with white berrys will be among those marching past. There are not many of those brave lads left now that served in those Russian Convoys.

There have been attempts for many years to get the British Goverment to grant a medal for all those that were part in that campain. The Russians gave them a medal but not our own goverment. Please help their just cause and sign the petition in this article. Thanks.

  2. Sadly my dad crossed the bar, ten years ago, so he won't be claiming his. On the other hand Bomber command didn't have a Campaign medal, remembering his words when talking about it, said "They really deserved one, it was a seperate campaign"

  3. Will sign the campaign Seadog, but don't fancy their chances. Arctic convoy vets received two campaign stars. The Arctic 1939/45 star & atlantic star. All bomber crews who served over France & Germany in WW2 received two campaign stars 1939/45 star, aircrew star & a clasp 'France & Germany' which fitted on the ribbon of aircrew star.
