Type 45 Motor problems

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A little bird has just told me that Darings machinery commissioning may not be going according to plan. There may be a teensy-weensy little problem with the construction of the motor that has led to a failure. the sort of failure that might ultimately need the motor removed from the vessel to be fixed........

    Any back-up to this?
  2. Nope, not the Great White Turbine, the (allegedly) UNRELIABLE (due to the bits they've clagged on) engine but one of the 20MW electric motors.......
  3. That don't sound too good…

Someone will get his nuts kicked if it's true.
  4. If BAe has anything to do with the design, then it's bound to be a crock of shit.
