I have two competitions now on the go and both run until Sunday 30th November. Although both are of a nautical bent (pun intended :D ) I hope you will find one or both of interest.

First Competition is for a CD - Ocean Wave by the Band of the Royal Marines - has been brought out to mark their 350th anniversary. The entry form for that can be found here: Ocean Wave

The second competition is for two books by the same author The Scapegoat and The Coward. Both have been reviewed by seaweed on Rum Ration, click link for review: Entry form here: Two books

Answers

Q1 Captain General of the RM is Prince Phillip

Q2 The RM base in Scotland is also known as Condor

Q3 One which most got wrong. I did say it was a tricky question and people should look it up. Apart from the Battle Honour "Gibraltar" the Royal Marines have 1 other Battle Honour on their Colours, and that is the Globe. "...the Royal Marines, although a colours-carrying service, was granted, along with the conventional battle honour of "Gibraltar", the "Great Globe itself" by King George IV for its very numerous battle honours around the world." One explanation can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_honour
