  1. Job Title: Training Officer

    Salary: £40,000
    Location: Aberdeen

    Purpose of the job
    To administer and carry out internal and external training for all safety training courses.

    Main duties
    Develop and create training course material to meet stated objectives in line with applicable standards and in-house conventions
    · Ensure all equipment required for training is in good order and available as required
    · Ensure classroom is set up prior to the course and cleared afterwards
    · Deliver training course using approved training materials and according to the course lesson plans
    · Deliver training to fulfil training requirements for offshore technicians
    · Conduct candidate assessment according to the agreed procedures and complete all delegate records within the agreed timescale
    · Initiate the candidate appeal process if required
    · Timely completion of all training records
    · Attend training team meetings
    · Complete training equipment stock take and carry out maintenance of all training equipment
    · Actors part of the review team for new or updated course material and all assessment methods
    · Keep up to date with industry developments including legislation and regulatory changes and assess the impact on training delivery
    · Working in conjunction with the sales team to promote internal and external training as required
    · Deal with any training enquiries as required including follow up on expired certificates
    · Make a proactive contribution to the successful implementation of health safety and environmental policies and processes

    Essential competencies
    Ability to teach and monitor candidates
    Good coaching skills
    Must be clear and well spoken
    Good IT skills including use of word PowerPoint and outlook

    Desirable competencies
    The experience of servicing and maintaining and using and wearing breathing apparatus
    Experience of using and calibration gas detection
    Experience of teaching first aid courses
    Technical skills and experience

    Behavioural competencies
    Must be organized and efficient
    Good time management skills
    Good administrative experience skills

    Qualifications and experience

    Experience trainer, working in an offshore environment would be an advantage
    A1 workplace assessor or equivalent qualification
    V1 internal verifier equivalent qualification would be an advantage
    Experience of working offshore would be an advantage
    Relevant training or qualifications would be an advantage
