Training for PRNC

Hi,

I have a question regarding what to expect in the PRNC. All I can find is that there will be a 3m jump in water and swimming but Im not sure what other excersises will be involved. Btw Im half way through the application, i havent done the PJFT or reasoning questions yet. I just want to work on these exercises asap as I cant do pess ups or chin ups. Thanks!

You should be preparing for the physical aspects of phase 1 training as it will be much harder than what you experience at the PRNC.

Sorry, so are you saying I should be working on the PJFT as its more physically demanding than the PRNC? because I have been busting my balls on the tredmill nearly everyday. From my progress in the last month, I'm possibly looking at 8.5mph for 2.5 miles in the next 2 weeks or so.

My guess is, if you can’t do press ups or pull ups, I think this would be a good starting point.
What would you advise on how to improve on these? Negative Navy push ups? I'm around 80kg and can bench 20kg dumbbells (40kg). I know a push up is 75% body weight(60kg). Should I do both?

I was just looking back on these again and seems as though there isn't such a big concern with the push ups or sit ups. You don't get tested on these? Of course I'm still improving on these and want to make a great impression but have been more focused on cardio than anything. I reckon I can get around 9-10 mins quite soon on the PJFT but also want to be prepared for PRNC as well. The push ups and sit ups are whats really holding me back from finishing the application at the moment.

If you can manage pressups easy enough then change the fulcrum , ie put your feet on the sofa and push up , hurts like hell at first but you should get used to it.
