I would agree and add that the subject matter we are being asked or given to debate is somewhat rather RANK.
I don't do subject research, its not my part of ship and allegedly beyond my capability.

I thought it was going to be appealed anyway and the end result may differ so I didn't get involved.)

Now we need to look at the bigger picture. The mail has been mentioned a few times, we will not call it a newspaper, and we shall call it paper with print on.

They go out and look for a good headline story (interesting thread with meet and substance) and fill out the rest of the pages with drivel, (not good threads) but in times of a shortage of good stories, it is the drivel that keeps the paper going.

So in times of not that many interesting threads it’s the posters with indifferent threads that are keeping RR ticking over until the next headliner comes along.

Taking life to seriously can give you stress, and nobody wants that.

It’s not the things you know that you should be worried about it is the things you do not know that should scare the shit out of you, like the 16 wheeled lorry you meet, on the wrong side of the road on some lonely road in the dead of night. really screws up your day/night

I don't think it's too different from what it's always been. We may have lost a few regular posters, but the content doesn't seem particuarly inferior to me against that when I joined the site. Less bone questions from noobs perhaps, which we all dripped about, but they did give rise to some amusing comments!
As for potential users; I know of at least 2 other senior rates who browse the site regularly who never post and another who only posts very occasionally. Why they choose to do so, I don't know, but the point I suppose I'm making is that there are people who use the site that we may not be aware of.

I am guilty as charged of crayoning I am well aware of that, but there seemed to be nothing on here with the DL tag or gash so I carried on.
As for one liners I post with humour and never with malice.
The only person I challenged besides Taffd (who I shall propose to the day after tomorrow), is Monty.
He answered my question and |I was satisfied with what he said, so we parted smoking.

If you refer to my debate in B&B thread what was wrong with that. I took up a point and pursued it without frivolity, and pursued what I thought was a valid point.
I gave no opinion as to whether or not I approve of Homosexuality which would make little difference either way if I had.
I express no opinion on religion, only a view that all be treated the same.
I do not enter into heavy debate, not because I have no opinions or am incapable of expressing them.
I as stated visit this forum for light relief and banter with like minded people who do not need me to define every word I use that broaches naval nonsense.
I never attack the youngsters in the mob and do not decry their achievements, in fact have praised them in as much as they do a real heap despite not having the tools or backing we did, and shit runs ashore to boot.
Now and again I do confront in a serious forum but that depends on the subject and the poster.
The case you refer to was because the poster kept hinting at his vastly superior knowledge of the subject in hand, without defining his privy to the source he kept suggesting he had. He never did in fact and to me if you know, being asked to quote you're source is not unreasonable. Unless of course you work for the daily mail and then the law operates differently.
And as for staying within my bounds, well I had an education of good grounding and far from the illiterate buffoon I act and portray myself as in threads.
After all as we keep being told within these portals, it's all only make believe and and real life starts when you log off.
