Rear Admiral Terrence Loughran CB is doing battle with his old Scilly Isles pal in this months issue of The Tresco Times. Writing under "The Commodore" his former Dartmouth opposite number,s nom de guerre, he compared Boy Cornwell VC with the antics of HMS Cornwall's less than adequate boat's crew and suggested, obliquely, that 2SL was other than a good egg. Terrence has written to the Editor pointing out that, in his opinion ,the Second Sea Lord with whom he works in 2SL's capacity as a Rear Admiral Fleet Air Arm and his interest in Fly Navy Heritage , is a very fine man. So that's all right then. Tresco served as a RNAS in WW1. The last of the wartime buildings are slowly being demolished.
