This has been around for a while Billy, I think there's a thread on it somewhere
  2. It is/was common practise to bury aircraft and aircraft spares. When we left Sembawang, early 70's, we buried loads of aircraft spares and tools. Right next to the graves of previous airfield inhabitants, (aircraft that is).

    Unlike at sea; Splaaaaash!
  3. Whats the going price for spitfire £1m ? so if they could do it a nice little earner
  4. Could this be the answer to the "what planes do we use on the new carrier" question
  5. Bloke on the Island rebuilds/restores them ... normally got at least 2 on the go in his workshop at Sandown Airport! He has a chap working for him that makes most of the spares from scratch ... built me a distributor for an MG once ... bet he'd be inteested in the spares!
  6. Has the news that the war's over reached the pile yet.
