Every year since the Admiralty stopped the tot, the Corner House Inn on Portland "celebrates" and remembers the good old days with a re-enactment of Rum Issue on the Saturday nearest the black day of 31st July, which on this 42nd year is Saturday 28th July. It's a cracking day with men dressed as sailors, bugler, scran, uckers, unbelievable dits and off course the closest rum to the real thing we can find. Normally sponsored by Lambs Navy Rum and Pussers there is also an auction to raise funds for the Weymouth RNLI. All welcome!
