Yes! It's that time again for all us merry folk to start preparing for the annual mince pie and Cadburys Heroes Fest! Ransack the attic for your box of lights and the tree in the far right hand corner (it's under those boxes of video tape box sets), stock up on Aldi winternacht stollen cake, make your lists (money or presents?), and DON'T forget the sprouts.
Here we go-here we go-here we go....

Both Lidl and Aldi Stollen are yummy , from fun size to 'bet you can't eat all of that in one sitting' , I did , smothered in loads of butter.
Visited the Black Friday sale at England RL retail and bagged a couple of vests for next summer , absolute bargains , my first crizzy presents to myself.:)

My misses tells me how many days to Christmas, I add 1 day to her number and say it will all be over for another year.
She calls me a miserable old git, not at all I like Christmas, but not all the commercial hype rammed down your throat every where you go, and all over the TV channels.
I have said for years, for how much my misses spends/wastes on Christmas we could fund an annual family holiday.
I say ask the kids and Grand kids about the family holidays we have had and they can all give a story, ask them what presents they had last Christmas, no idea.

Got my folks down this year, first trip for them since 2019, this is how it will go:

Xmas Eve: Arrive about 12:00. Insist on taking the kids for lunch at the local pub (they don't want to go)

Xmas Eve around 14:00: After talking non stop about rubbish they will both be fast asleep on the sofa

Xmas Eve around 1600: Scran

Xmas Eve around 19:00 Sleep until 22:00

Xmas Day 09:00 : Get up and be surprised on "what they bought the kids",

Xmas Day 12:00; Xmas Dinner

Post dinner repeat Xmas Eve

Boxing Day: Thin out at around 10:00

Tell your kids it may be the last chance they get to spend time with your folks so enjoy it whilst it lasts. They will both miss and remember these times when they are gone.

You sound like you looking forward to it?

Better turn your nicks around, don't want to strangle a bollock

We can't plan Christmas this year. CinCNagHome is waiting for her first hip replacement. Here, they do all the tests and chats with the anaesthetist at an appointment (this Monday) and this is valid for 90 days. One day the phone rings and a voice will say 'get your arrse into the hospital in a couple of days time!' So any plans are well out the window - short term planning only!

The Rock Hotel on Gib had a Christmas break special offer last year, so we went to that - it was brilliant - more food than you could shake a stick at, 24 degrees etc. But we can't plan that this year. Hey ho - first world problems!

Well, I've got the heating on and all is getting colder with each passing day.

Best wishes for the forthcoming op. Hope you will be getting your nurses uniform out soon! I've had enough replacement parts for one year.

It's quarter to seven and we're just back in and it's still 23 outside. It was 26 this afternoon, which is a wee bit unusual to be fair - it's normally only about 24!

However - NO rain, which is not good as some of the reservoirs are down to tiny amounts. Bloody tourists having 'Hollywood' showers!
