The ANL are a hotchpotch of anarchists, socialists, liberals, ethnic minorities - in fact anyone who is opposed to the likes of the British Nazi Party (even some Tories no doubt!). They are a small pressure group which no doubt includes some unsavoury characters but I don't agree that as a group they are anywhere near as unpleasant as the nazis. Their motives if nothing else, surely, place them further up the evolutionary ladder than that.
Even their 'masters' the SWP are a slightly odd, and generally rather dull bunch, but I can't really think of them as sinister. They don't even claim to be democratic and state their intentions as a revolutionary overthrow of society. That in itself makes them look very silly and, I would think, more of a nuisance than a threat.
Sadly, in the current climate (the legacy, of course, of Thatcher ukeleft:  ) the BNP are a very attractive and viable option to the massive underclass of selfish bigots who infest Britain. The ANL certainly are not.
