Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. 1948 - 2008

    60th Anniversary

Well done all you flying chappies!
  2. The memorial outside Tempelhof airport in Berlin in the shape of half a bridge is very atmospheric. It commemorates those fliers killed in the operation and the other half is in Frankfurt.
The aiport terminal itself is a fantastic building and well worth a visit. Sadly there are very few scheduled flights these days and the field itself is presently the subject of plans for building and theme parks.
Many of the great names in UK (and other countries) aviation business cut their teeth during this time and in this way; Freddie Laker, Adam Thompson, ´Pancho´Villa etc
