The first ever major touring exhibition of the Artists Rifles (Volunteers, WWI) has been on the road since April this year, but sadly the tour must come to an end in December. I actually went along to the Willis Museum in Basingstoke to view the display and I was not disappointed. The display isn't large, but the audio/TV film about the Artists Rifles and the original works on display by the likes of John Nash and his brother, Paul Nash: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Nash_(artist) made my visit well worthwhile. OVER THE TOP by John Nash. The exhibition will be at the Gosport Discovery Centre from the 4th October - 27th December, so if you're in the area it's worth a visit ... and it's free to view. SP.
