Terrorist Plot 31/1/07

More details have just been reported on Sky News, regarding the Terrorist Plot that was foiled this morning.

The Terrorists aim was to capture a British Muslim Solider off the street (in the UK), torture him and then behead him, before posting it on the internet.

We all take PERSEC fairly seriously on these forums, but this takes it to a whole new level for every serviceman/woman, whether they be Regular or Reserve.
We've debated the wearing of uniforms in public on this forum in the past and everyone has there own opinions, but this really does make you sit up and take notice. Im sure it will revert back to the way it used to be, with under vehicle checks and no wearing of uniforms in public places after today.

Are you suggesting we succomb to this threat in our own country then? I am sure that is exactly what they want, the Armed Forces slinking around in the shadows again as if we are afraid anyone knows what we do! Not this matlow Jack!

They dont want us slinking around in the shadows FFS, what they want is to capture, torture and kill us!!
Its nothing to do with being afraid or giving in to them - It's about taking certain measures to protect yourself and your oppos. How is that "slinking around"?
We had to do the same thing in the past when PIRA were at the helm and we may have to do it again now. Its called self preservation.

All the bravado in the world isnt going to help you if the shit hits the fan is it. All Im saying is that we may receive the ORDER not to wear uniforms in public from the Boss. As for the other PERSEC drills, well thats just being professional if you ask me

I have absolutely no doubt that you are right Spenny, there will be a knee jerk reaction from on high, I don't think they just chose this guy cos he walked past in uniform though! You have always had the choice, if you live in an area where you feel vulnerable obviously don't wear uniform to and from home, that could just as easily be the centre of Manchester as Birmingham! It doesn't mean we should ban the wearing of uniform in public again though!

On that basis they might target local veterans who attend Remembrance Parades, have a wet in their local RNA or wear a Vets Badge. Not wearing a uniform in my opinion will make no difference - such an operation takes planning - and they would presumably have already pre-selected their target for interception.

I suspect the police will have to release them soon as they will no doubt argue that disobeying laws they disagree with (non-Sharia) and attempted killing of Muslims fighting alongside Infidels is a faith position (which technically it is - they perceive a Christian nation to be occupying an Islamic nation which according to the Koran entitles them to act in certain ways as a matter of both religious duty and conscience). Maybe the Judges will back them - after all as some Christians themselves have argued in Parliament... people should not be forced to choose between the laws of God and the State... they should be allowed to opt out of those laws they disagree with... like classifying the killing of non-Muslims as murder perhaps? A slippery slope indeed!

These animalistic disloyal pricks don't care about uniforms or civvies, all they care about is us not being part of their ******** backward religion.
Born in our country carrying our passport using our health service educated by our teachers and they plan to cut off someone's head. Filth, I know it is a slippery slope, but I will fully understand when people decide enough is enough and start lynching these worms. Where will it end? I pity the kids and the next generation, these *********** are multiplying faster than they can be topped in Iraq. The real shit and giggles part is there doesn't seem to be a locical answer.
What kind of a sicko can cut someone's head off anyway?
I'm pissed off.

At this stage, the word 'alleged' needs to be prefixed to your rants Lingyai.

Having just watched the news and the section about this particular subject it really does make you realise that the world is going f*cking mad.

The report said "at least one local muslim organisation has announced that it plans to protest against the arrests".

Most communities would be glad that these people have been caught now and trust the legal system to decide if they are guilty or innocent.

And i speak as a man who lives within 300 yards of the last suspects that were seized in west yorkshire last week.

Sod this for a lark. I've just upped the tempo on my plans to take my family to Australia. They seem to be one of the few countries left in the world with any common sense!

It confirms what I said earlier. They feel entitled to place Sharia above national law as a conscience issue. After all this is the logical outcome of Cormac Murphy-O'Connor's flawed reasoning: if it is a religious right to disobey legislation about which you disagree (and the Catholic Church has made clear that it intends to violate the law) as a Christian then how can it be wrong for a Muslim to engage in copycat behaviour and equally disregard laws they find objectionable - like preventing them from committing honour killings, etc?
