Terminal Grant

  1. I joined up in Oct 74 and left in Dec 87. In 93 I transferred my preserved pension into a private personal pension scheme.

It was reviewed in about 2001 to see if the pension was mis-sold and the result was there was no miss selling.

My question is please. Am I still eligible for the terminal grant payable at age 60 or did I lose my claim to it when I transferred my preserved pension?

I have looked everywhere for an answer and cannot find anything definitive.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. I am afraid that, by transferring out, you took all of your AFPS 75 benefits with you, including the terminal grant.

  3. Bum. Thanks very much for the information. I thought it might be the case.

Still, my preserved pension is doing very nicely in my personal pension scheme.

    Thanks again.
