Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. For the time of year, and on this subject. This is the grave of Vice Admiral Humphrey Hugh Smith. Its in a quiet little graveyard in Donegal in the North West of Ireland. He was convoy commodore in SS Manchester Brigade,Lost on the 27th September 1940.Thought it unusual that it didn't have the standard CWG headstone.

  2. The correct words are: They shall grow not old,

As we that are left grow old........ etc etc

A common mistake but the correct wording is much more poetic.

    Cheers.
