TA 100

Discussion in 'Royal Naval Reserve (RNR)' started by Maxi_77, Jul 10, 2008.

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The following message has just gone out to all staff in the company I work for.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Territorial Army (TA) and as a mark of respect for the 15,000 or so TA members who have been mobilised for operations over the last few years, TA members and other service reservists and auxiliaries are invited to wear their uniform to work on 16 July.

This is a simple means of demonstrating support for members of the TA, reservist and auxiliary communities who serve our country across the world.

At least some companies do support the reserves.
  2. Good on em.

    Wish more did.

Maybe some employers will appreciate the reserve forces more when the credit crunch hits home and they want to ditch some staff, giving a reservist the opportunity to deploy?
  3. What company is that?
  4. Well BZ to whoever that company is, they should be recognised by NELC or whoever the org is now
  5. Well thatt's a long story, some 20 years ago I joined Ferranti, but after just a few name changes and changes of ownership today we are called Selex.
  6. RNR 100 seems pretty pale in comparison to what the TA has laid on.

That said, they deserve their moment of glory- they've had a busy time of it since 2002.
