Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I would imagine Capt D(whatever squadron) with be a four ringer as is the norm, or is it not the norm nowadays to have a four ringer i/c of the squadron?
  2. Sam Salt didn't commisioned SHEFFIELD: could be wrong, but wasn't Woodward on there before him ??
  3. Blimey! I've lost touch with the sea going world since I left the Cov in 2000, lack of sea billets as a squirrel!!
  4. Bet that'll be a relief for the Ship's Company, someone who's got a brass hat and doesn't volunteer for everything on behalf of the crew. Paying off EXMOUTH in 66 for gas turbine refit, we had "Action Stations" between Rosyth and Chatham - with half the ship and 100 % of the crew in paying off mode, it wasn't a great success - and he stayed a 2 1/2 !!
  5. As I understand it only the first of class will have a Captain in command, the rest will be Commanders.
  6. 190 crew

    100 Officers

    90 crew
