Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Projections from exit polls suggest that voters in Switzerland have backed a referendum proposal to ban the building of minarets.

The result is not yet official, but the BBC's correspondent in Berne says if it is confirmed, it would be a surprise.

The proposal was backed by the Swiss People's Party (SVP), the largest party in parliament, which claims minarets are a sign of Islamisation.

Opponents say a ban would discriminate and that the ballot has stirred hatred.
  2. Parliament is upset it may offend Islamic countries.

That would never do all those billions from oil revenues stashed away withdrawn would be ruined.
  3. They can do what they like as far as I am concerned in that sick country that has made vast fortunes out of the abject misery of others, the Swiss F... E..
  4. They could compromise (something the Swiss are very good at)and give them their bleeding minarets. But insist that each minaret has a Swiss cuckoo clock on the top.
Then insist they use that to call em to prayers instead of all that foreign wailing noise they make.A nice tasteful cuckoo call to prayers would be more in keeping with the Swiss way of life.
  5. If the Ottomans had got as far as Switzerland, they might have finished up with a Catholic church like one in Vienna.

Rather handy for when they take over.
