Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A source said last night: “Security needs to be better to stop these firearms incidents. Having two people present when guns are drawn out would help.”

What do they thing happens - you just thow someone the keys and tell them to help themselves - Oh, and make sure you lock up after yourself.

  2. You've not served on small ships then??!!

  3. Always more than one person present on our ship during handovers but then thats because we have more than two people armed up all the time on capital ships

  4. Always 2 present on boats for the issuing of arms, although only one armed.

  5. I've been on FF's and DD's and RFA's and always had one person issuing weapons. Never been permitted to self issue.

  6. Thing is this was at sea anyways and the person had authority to sign out the keys as part of his job
