Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. No,
pussers tot preserved the internal organs for longer than those who joined the andrew after 1970,who had to rely only on the ingestion of diesel to help prolong their lives!

    think diesel ............stink diesel
  2. Nuffing wrong with diesel - use it instead of butter on yer spuds
  3. It's all very well living longer, but when you have to spend a massive portion of that life in a tin can under the sea it's not much of a life is it. And yes, I was on Turbulent for a while before anyone gobs off about me being a skimmer who doesn't know what it is like on a boat.
Personaly I waould rather have quality over quantity, and a nice bit of fresh air and sunshine in the morning.
  4. Doesn't differentiate between deisel boats and nukes does it? A follow up study might be useful now........The last sentence is amazing! "Excess deaths from cirrhosis of the liver, and from accidents and violence after leaving the Navy, were of some concern but they cannot be attributed directly to the submarine environment." How about a bit of investigation on the "indirectly" then?!
