Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hey rum ration!
I've enjoyed using this facility for doing research for my selection interview which is on the 13th of may.
I'm pretty clued up on the initial 10 weeks training at Raleigh and I'm knowledgeable on the different boats the RN use.
    I have applied for ETWESM.
The information Im struggling to find is:
Submarine school ( training involved and how long)
Hms collingwood ( training involved as etwesm and how long)
I am a newbie to this site but I have used the search button but can't find much on these subjects. Also the rn site is pretty vague....

Any help would be appreciated and any jokes taken in good stead.... cheers:eek:

  3. Thanks prowler! Sorry to keep on with the newbies topics but what's my best reference to find out salary whilst on basic? I've found at least 3 different figures from rn website, out of date career guides etc.
    Any help appreciated...

My advice would be go with the lowest salary quoted. If you get more - result.

  6. Good man prowler how did interview go and was there anything you were asked that took you by surprise? Blackrat gonna do that mate cheers:)

  7. Passed.

They mainly just want to know what you know. Research what you will do at Raleigh and why you will do it. Research Submarine school and your job training.

You're going boats so research boats.

There's no trick questions, they're just making sure you're right for the navy.

  9. What you will do should be on the PDF that tells you about your role.

The one that gives a brief summary of the job, followed by a brief summary of Raleigh, role training, submarine school etc...
