    Location: Surrey
    Salary: £26k - £30k

    A Quality Engineer (Materials Handling) is required by an expanding company which specialises in defence communications. The Quality Engineer (Materials Handling) will provide Quality Inspections and Goods-In / Out function in support of the company’s varied products.

    The successful Quality Engineer will be team orientated but have the ability to work under his or her own initiative. Using a forward thinking approach, the Quality Engineer will be results driven with a strong focus on providing quality solutions whilst conducting his or her duties in checking all items into and out of the company ensuring they meet the required standard, packaging goods for despatch and operation of the stores.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    · Inspect purchased items against the requirements of the Purchase Order.
    · Booking the goods in on the electronic purchasing system.
    · Storage and identification of received goods.
    · Management of the Stores and the Stores Record.
    · Booking in and out of customer owned/supplied items.
    · Input of equipment repairs onto the Repairs Database and QA sign-off of repairs.
    · Liaison with shipping agents and couriers.
    · Inspection of goods prior to despatch.
    · Packaging and despatch of goods.
    · The role will involve lifting of heavy objects and operation of pallet trucks

    Key qualifications and experience the ideal candidate will possess are:
    · An ONC or Higher in a relevant subject
    · Two years experience in a similar role working in an ISO9001 environment
    · Excellent communication skills with suppliers and customers, both verbal and written
    · Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
    · A full clean driving licence
    · Existing S/C level security clearance or ability to gain S/C clearance
    · Experience of working in the Defence sector (Desirable)
    · Experience of international freight movement (Desirable)

    The successful Quality Engineer will have a degree of flexibility regarding working hours and be able to work occasional extra hours in week days and at weekends. In addition to the salary, the role holder will receive 25 days holiday + BH’s, health insurance, a discretionary performance related bonus scheme and a contributory pension scheme matched by the company up to 5%.
