  1. I have been waiting since july 06 for a starting date, when i applied they said i should be going in around march, have not heard anything from them since i went on the aquaint in september. Am going in as an MA, is this waiting normal? Because its not the waiting that i mind its the fact that i don't know when i am going in. I have been in the AFCO a few times and they said when they find out i'll find out. Any ideas?

  2. anyone?
  3. hi
give them a ring, unfortunatly the navy same as the army marches a one pace. some time sits fast some times its slow.
    hope this helps

  4. you should have had a date by now. i'm going in as a MA got my date for april 15th passed my PJFT in october. phone them
  5. It is not unusual to wait a long time for the confirmation of a starting date. I waited for almost a full year until i got mine. The length of the wait is down to many factors, in particullar your choice of branch. MA(SM)'s are a rare breed and this could result in the length of your wait being somewhat extended as is is Ralegh policy to form classes of people of similar specialisation.

I recently passed out of raleigh (January 12th) as an ETME (SM) and i am currently on my SMQ course at faslane, so if you have any questions regarding Raleigh or any aspect of your submarine training gove me a shout!
  6. Hey mate. that is a bit long to wait. I'm also going in as an MA(SM) and i start Raleigh this sunday. I did my PJFT in july, got all my security clearance back in Oct and was told when my start date would be then. As i said i start in 2 days and altogether it was only 11months from first contact at the AFCO till joining up. That is quick generally speaking as apparently MA(SM)'s are in a high demand and get in rather quick. So i would have thought you should have at least heard something by now.

Good luck with it all btw.
