  9. hi everyone im new to the whole rum ration thang' im jon anywayz. just passed my pjft wondering how long it usualy is before u get your start date?

  10. Hey thanks everyone for your comments. much appreciated. I really can't wait till i join. I know it will be hard at times, but i know i'll never give up. I think seeing my families faces on the passing out parade will keep me going through the worst times.

Hey jonboy and haribo, well i passed my fitness test in July, and I only got my start date this week. it does seem like a long time, well it did for me too, until i ended up forgetting about checking the post everyday and next thing my CRB form arrived. so i just rang up, and they already had my main security clearance back at the careers office. so all they had to do was call me back after about an hour with a start date.

  11. Congratulations Mate! I passed my fitness test last day of June and am still waiting. Did they tell you what your waiting list time was when you applied? Unfotunatley I had to change AFCO as my local one closed down halfway thru the process - the first one told me the wait was 15months for a Seaman Specialist and the second one told me 8 months and then they said a few weeks later it was 15 months - so I don't really know where I stand!! The second AFCO also lost part of my application forms so I worry about the accuracy of their information. I know the wait will be worth it.

  12. Hey Polo, i never really had a waiting list. They said beside i'm going into the submarine branch that as soon as my clearance came through, i would get a date. Think its because its a specialist field and short of applicants. Good luck for yourself mate, and i hope you get a start date soon as well!

  13. It all depends on the trade, i did my fitness test on the 28th of sept and got my start date the tuesday after and i start on the 5th Nov! Its all a bit quick!!!
