Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Well done Wiggins, I expected Ben Ainslie to be in the top 3 after all he has achieved, maybe he will get another chance if he can win the Americas cup.

Sense of humour failure by the crisp muncher when Wiggy tried to kiss him.

  2. Wiggo was the only choice. Would love to know why Laura Trott, Carl Froch and Graeme Swann weren't in the running though.

  3. One of the world's last surviving proper mods. Good lad.

Jess Ennis should have won "Sporting Arse of the Year".

Not for me Sumo, Kelly Brook wins all those type of titles for me, but wrt sporty types only, then I'd go for Ms Ennis.

  10. I was reading about his suit in the Standard yesterday:

    Bradley Wiggins

  13. Watched a bit of the Round the Island race from the bedroom window ... missed Sir Ben though on account that he started at 04:30 and was round the Needles and through the bay before I even opened my eyes! Stonking good effort! ... next stop America's Cup!

I don't understand why Ben Ainslie was representing the septics? ANyone able to enlighten me?

  16. From what I can gather from the media TO, all the various boats crews are multi-national, it's just the owners who are the nationals. Ben has close links with Oracle Racing was brought onboard as a tactician originally.

I've no doubt there was a financial incentive janner, I wasn't aware of what wrecks pointed out though.

To be fair, there is talk of him being in the UK crew next time around and I would think that this experience would be helpful
